Pretty sure the picture was taken 1920-1930 if that is any help.
The picture is off my Nanna's Grandad.

Daz,s great great grandad is much better looking than him, could be wearing a pink shirt though. ::) ;D
-
Certainly earlier than 1950! Probably about 1930. Is that possibly the early Ford emblem sticking forward at top of the bonnet? Looking at the headlamp size I would say it is unlikely to be a 'prestige' car which of that period tended to have larger lamps. :y

How about this?

Is it an Austin Maxi?!!!! :y
-
He looks like my cousins Grandad, he was related to Mary Queen of scots aswell, but not Broocie.
-
Hey seriously how bloody strange is that!
I am related to Mary Queen of Scots too.
Excellent stuff :y
-
Being a big Jessie does not mean you are related to Mary queen of scots.
And being a queen doesnt mean you are related to all the other queens. ::) ::) ;D ;D :P

Hmmm.... well, the bonnet is actually very short, which must put it as an either 8 or 10, perhaps a 12hp-sized car.
The front arches don't have much sweep, suggesting early thirties, however, the crease only came in, stylistically, in the later thirties.
So that suggests a posh maker that was a bit backward, so didnt go in for the 'racy' flowing arches, as you would see on a Morgan, for example. Again, chrome plated headlamps went out on all but posher makers come the late thirties.
Im going for a Rover Ten.

But looking If Im honest, I think it's the Hillman that's just been posted. I'm voting against myself!

Mine too, but decided that the bonnet was too short, and no apparent louvres. 8-) ;) ::)
-
yep, delving into the hillmans a bit more, looks to be a later thirties, maybe a 1940 model, as they seem to have had a slightly less rakish (!) angle of grille. than earlier ones. The bonnet mascot, headlamps, and arches all look pukka to me.
-
i bet you found that one in your lock up daz? did you say he was your dad daz? no sign of any crocs![pink ones] ;D ;D : ::) ::) :y
