Title: whoo hoo!!! Cruise Fitted and Working!!!!!
Post by: Golfbuddy on 20 June 2007, 19:23:58
whoo hoo!!! Ordered cruise/indicator stalk from Ebay 'Vauxhallpartsuk' Brand new in box £25.00 :)

Fitted on Saturday in 10 minutes, well I didn't want to rush things and I was still in my PJ's when the postman called.

Found a local independant with Tech2 who enabled it today for £47 inc vat (Ouchh).

Drove home with big smile on my face as I played with my new toy.

Thanks for all your help guys!!! Without your help I would never have believed it could really be that easy :y :y :y

What can I do next??

Well done golfbuddy. :y

If you follow my trail, the next thing is to clean the breathers and throttle body - see AA's helpful guide.

Cruise was the best mod i ever did to my 2.2, some other easy cheap mods are:

Hilpers Boot Release - You may find you cannot pop the boot with the key in the ignition, i found this really annoying. There is a guide called hilpers boot release mod, you just cut 1 wire. Job done!

Rear blind is a good mod, not got a chance to do it myself yet. Just plug and play....

Got an auto? - Gearbox software update is a must  :y

That looks like fun :) What exactly will that do? It looks like a good job for the weekend.

If it's never been done, it will make your engine run smoother, esp at idle with MID reading 0.2 on mine (was 0.4 before).  The best way I can describe it is like blowing your nose - it just feels better ;)

Check Vx have gasket for throttle body (blue paper) and for sump pipe (metal) - both yours for under £2.  Wear marigolds as the cleaner will eat through thin rubber gloves very quickly.

Oh, and it's very rewarding too as you actually get your hands dirty.  ;D

Well, if you would have the common decency to arrange your holidays at a time to suit me then you would have saved me a lot of bother. >:(

Well, perhaps you could do my gearbox mod then? Although Mrs The Boy might have other ideas I guess?
