generic odbII reader, so will do engine only.  Also, looks like it can't do live data.

ive used a few like that,they were all the same but different cases and makes printed on them and found them ok for giving codes out but that was it and if you look on stealbay you will find one cheaper than that theres one called u281,u380,u480 and so on they go for£20/30 :)

Take a look at Sealey Tools - www.sealey.co.uk.

They do a OBDII / EOBD Code reader (Model VS8700), which is a good start, reads engine and gearbox codes, and you can monitor I/M readiness status (emissions).

As for price, you'll have to shop around for it, and I managed to get it for around £40.  And it wasn't a cheap china copy off ebay !.
