First time I was stuffed today, went too slow into a car park for chips, and a small hump caught the front wheels and stopped the car.
Some moron behind me would not let me reverse out for another go.
TC on or off neither worked - in fact it slipped backwards, no room to dig down due to bum parker.
Ended up in a parking place 1 foot from another car and on sheet ice :o :o
Cardboard under R/H wheel managed to get across the way through to another roomier spot, TC U/S just let the tyres melt the ice to the tarmac.
After chips, reversed out slightly up hill, went down slope against one way system, no slipping. With chips.

It was the chips that made all the difference on the way out ;D ;D ;D

I was trying to drive uphill today in a small narrow street and had to give up as the rear wheels where just spinning. If I still had the Omega I would try the 'snow-flake' button, but sadly no such thing on my car... I backup-up and got out of there as soon as I could, because it was obvious to me that if some moron came downhill I've had it - the street was too narrow for both of us and he would never manage to stop his car on the sheet ice.

I had a little awkward moment yesterday...
Had to stop on the hill to a level crossing for a train.
It left...and took my traction with it :(
backed up a little and up it went, had no weight in the boot.

Spent 3 hours digging the car out :o :o :o
Not convinced I'll have the ground clearance to get over the snow on my road... 10" most of the way along with another 2-3" compacted underneath :o :o
I'm meant to be on nights but am a little concerned I wont be able to get home again
