Title: ABS in snow/ice
Post by: SMD on 09 January 2010, 17:05:37

Been out today in fresh snow and ice and the car behaved very well. However when the ABS kicks in, it feels odd like the pedal will snap. Is this normal?

I would describe it as almost a "banging" felt through the pedal.......

Dont remember it feeling like that in the wet but then again I cant remember the last time I needed to stamp on the brakes.

On my last car it was a gentle pulse

It stands far more chance of being needed on snow and ice so I would say yes to that......

Dont need the ABS system in normal everyday use, unless in an emergency situation, the snow and ice just brings it into service alot more than on "normal" days......
