Whats blocking the water?

Whats blocking the water?
Nothing is blocking the water. The cooling system is just over-pressuring with exhaust gasses due to the blowing head gasket, hence impairing circulation [smiley=evil.gif]

You may well jest......
Only half. Constant hissing from the expansion tank cap, gets worse when gunned but it hasn't ground to a halt completely in a column of steam as it would have done by now had it been the gasket. I do hope I'm wrong...
I've been racking my brains but I still can't think of anything else to try before the head comes off.
Except a check for fumes in the expansion tank.. did you ever do this? Wouldn't prove much at this stage because either way I think you need a look inside but might be interesting.

Haven't had it sniffed (I live in Brackley - electricity only made it here last year, we're hoping to have running water to the town soon ;)), but cannot smell anything. Also, not bubbling in tank...
