Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 22 June 2007, 21:13:02
Wondering whether to book a holiday in Turkey for next year... Are Lilo kept comin home saying her mate is going to Turkey, and now what a lovely time she had in Turkey.. In fact thinkin of going just to shut her up ;D
Not sure which part to go, Marmaris, Ishmeler ......
Do i go fully inclusive or self catering as I have been told food is so cheap there fully inclusive would be a waste!

Hi Daz. My sister goes to Turkey about 3 or 4 times a year and loves it there. She has been so many times that she now knows a lot of the locals and has a good friend over there who owns his own hotel. Just of the top of my head i think he charges about £12 a night per room and even picks you up from the airport. I think it is just outside Marmaris and if you would like any more info send me a PM and i will get the details from her and pass them on. Cheers, Jez

The parts of turkey that are on the coast with the Agean sea are very nice, Instanbull also. The rest i'm not so sure. I would suggest you go for self catering as the cousine is amazing and you don't really want to eat the crap that most hotels serve.
And before i forget, please remember that all of the ancient monuments you will see are made by GREEKS.

Ephesus means nothing in Italian or latin, but it does in Greek. These places were greek since the Trojan war.  Speaking or Roman empire the romans were controlling the western part of the empire while the eastern was controlled by the Byzantine empire(the Greek part of the empire).
Anyway it will be definately a good holiday prices are indeed very low.
