Title: Over a month outa date
Post by: waspy on 05 February 2010, 14:37:54
I walked past a Toyota Hiace today & its tax ran out in December.
I've walked by it a few times over the passed month & thought about reporting it, but then i think sod it, if they can get away with it why not. It just means less £ for the Government, what a shame ::)
What are your thoughts?

depends if its in the way / bothering you.

had an old alfa near us, abandoned in the summer, always in the way.

tax ran out, online form to dvla....2 days later the owners were there trying to start and move it, so the obviously got in touch and said move it....or we will.

Not at all matey. It's parked on the Ind Estate near the Rail Station, i guess they catch the train into work every day.
I just wouldn't like to think that i was parking my car on the road all day for all that walk past to see :o

I guess you have to ask yourself.....are you happy funding part of his share of the road fund license.

Ask yourself, how would you feel if he hit your car in it?

That's the crux-probably not insured and with no MOT either.

I am one who thinks if he hasn't taxed it then it's probably not insured.
I had a car written off by an uninsured driver and as far as I'm concerned they deserve to be reported!

If you feel the same then this is what you need:-www.dft.gov.uk/dvla/onlineservices/report_unlicensed.aspx?ext=dg

That thought had crossed my mind also. Easy to forget in our busy lives.
I may just put a note on & say you have a week or i'll make a phone call ;)

Its possible that the owner is a scumbag and any polite note would be scrunched up and ridiculed.
So i would leave a note saying "Get it taxed or lose it tommorrow!"
Then if it appears the next day untaxed,i suggest a pipe bomb taped to the inlet manifold.

A can of expanding foam up the tailpipe, discreetly cleaned off at the exit can confound even the experts  ;D
