On my CID I keep getting a warning that I have a brake light out, but I have not.
Is this a sensor worn or something more sinister?
Just rather annoying.

I've had the same warning on for the last month..
Numerous checks have found nothing as all lights (including rear window light) are working.
Though I have noticed that the brake lights in the rear dont seem to light up significantly over the standard lights being on...
Perhaps an issue of the light is slowly expiring? Had a car before and it warned of this before bulbs finally blew...

did the previous owner put in LED bulbs?

for the cost of a few quids put new blubs in the back.

Take the bulbs out give the connectors a brush up then put them back in :y

Put good quality lamps in the stop/tail lights. AFAIK the centre high/eye level brake light isn't on the check control.

alright panic pants, its no biggy, the check is raised when the circuit is broken, if the bulbs are not blown it usually means halfords bulbs fitted, which several members have had trouble with, they dont seem to sit in the holder very well and brake contact when you hit a bump or whatever...check the bulbs seat well in the holders or try jiggling the holder to confirm the fault, you can weight the peddle with something or ask an assistant like James. hth

In all seriousness - this error usually occurs when non GM bulbs are fitted.

Does the warning go out when you press the brake pedal????
The warning always appears on facelift migs when they are turned on as a matter of safety precaution

araldite is fantastic stuff isn't it.. ;)
Is it the brake light or tail light where there are actually two bulbs each side? I know its easy to miss if just one has blown.

Might be worth buying a couple of bulbs from Vauxhall - will only cost a couple of quid. The Omega seems particularly sensitive to aftermarket bulbs.

Get the dash bulbs while you're at it too.

better get used to it Di, all the check items are cancelled the same way, ice warning, washer fluid low are most common and yes the brake light check is very persistant.
Also possible are head light bulb warning, brake pad low, oil level low, coolent low, headlight fied of vision(hid headlight aim has defaulted to low to avoid dazzeling other drivers) fuel low, and if you have the phone built in it will badger you to put a sim in it to enable the sos function. Tmc can pester unless you turn it off, traffic cuts in unless you turn it off, and traffic master,(i've had this added) cuts in and turns the radio on even if you turn it off for a moments piece. Keep the girl happy or she'll nag all the way home... or sometimes just koz she can. Women aye... ;D
