I have read the many posts about previous cars that we have owned and loved and hated, but, it set me thinking with regards to cars that I wished I had at least test driven.
In my case, when I was buying my 3rd car, I had the opportunity to buy a 1989 Audi GT Quattro with immaculate bodywork. Instead of at least giving it a test drive, I drove a cheesy and well thrashed Rover 216 GTi, which was arguably the 2nd worst car I have ever driven and less powerful than the clapped out Sierra Sapphire (1.8 CVH, with warped head, running mayo in the water and oil systems). I ended up buying a 1991 Peugeot 309 GLX 1.3...

As to my most missed opportunity, it would have to be a 2007 '07' 520d M Sport, it was a year old at the time I could've got it, bloke had lost his job and needed fast cash, he was going to take 10k for it. I had would've been able to pick up the day after another bloke did, so it went to the other blokem had higher than usual mileage but even at higher mileage it was only 30 something thousand :'(
The profit that could've been made on that :(

A 1975 Bristol 411. Had been looking for a while and was eventually notified by Tony Crook of one becoming available.
I was about to head over to do the deal when a colleague pointed out that a large, unusual looking ivory coloured car was the last thing one would want in Belfast during the turbulent period of the early 80's.
Sadly she was right, so I had to forgo the deal as I was stuck there for some time and had nowhere to store the car.
Just like this only in a fetching Ivory colour;
