Nice Hillman Minx,,Brings back memories . my first car was a Minx.. :y

Ha.... you'd be surpised how many people 'of a certain age' say "Hillman minx - I did my 'courting in one of those". Perhaps I should start a business, "hire a passion wagon and re-live your youth" The front bench seat in the Minx is certainly a benefit in that area ;)
Pat
and for anyone below 40 here is the dictionary definition of courting!
Noun 1. courtship - a man's courting of a woman; seeking the affections of a woman (usually with the hope of marriage); "it was a brief and intense courtship"

Are you saying im past my sell by date,,It was a slip of the tongue or fingers i meant to say Hillman, no minx.. ;D ;D

Loved the pictures of the Minx. Brings back memories of my Father's first car which was a Minx in 1969. The dynamo packed in in the middle of the night in the New Forest. Eventually got back home to Didcot in the early hours of the morning.
Happy days.

What a nice example that is and thanks very much for sharing the pics with us. As some on here will know, I am quite a fan of the Rootes group products. Martin Imber, another member on here, is as well.
My dad had a Hillman Minx, this was the Hunter shape. OHX 957 E. Dad drove it during the day and Mum drove it at night (she was a district nurse). That car went round the clock twice which was quite an achievement in those days. I still remember crying when Dad sold it! After that, we had the chrysler version on the Hunter, DLF 517 T.
Thanks again for the pics - the rest of the line up looks pretty good too!

The minx is a 1960 Serries IIIc with a genuine 43K ish miles on the clock. I've owned it for about 20 years and knew the old boy who had it before me ( he was a genuine "take it out on sundays for a run, wipe it down, then put it back in the garage again for a week" type). Its not been out much the last 3-4 years I'm afraid, so when I got it out on Sunday I found brakes not working and the gen light permanantly on. (makes you wonder how these things happen when its stood in a dry garage!).
The Triumph GT6 MKII at the back is in serious need of a respray (belongs to number 1 son, just garaged here) - I left off number 2 sons the smart car and Corsa! (I wouldn't mind, but ony two of us at home drive :) )
Thanks for the nice comments
Pat
