Holden managed it but i don't know how much they had to modify the engine bay to get it in. The LS1 is not a big engine for a V8 i remember them claiming.

Nice that's good to know I`m not likely to do it as I don't feel as though I have the knowledge to do so but if its a plausible idea I might just look in to it deeper, I would say just to have a unique omega but if its already done then it might not be worth it. If its a small v8 do you mean by cc or the dimensions of the block as whats the point of the extra weight if it only goes to a 3.9 or low 4l. I was thinking of a range rover engine as some are well supercharged, braking would then be a concern although easier to rectify than taking big chunks out of the engine bay probably.

It started off at 5.7l then went to 6.0l (LS2). It's small dimensionally (smaller than the Rover V8) but don't be put off by the fact it's not a twin cam 16v per head arrangement like the Omega as GM consulted top engine tuners when it was on the drawing board and advised them accordingly. It's of all alloy design as well so is probably as light as the V6.

Yes, goes in no problems. Opel almost released a 5.7 V8 Omega :'(
