Title: Same tyre tread pattern per axle?
Post by: Radar on 06 March 2010, 21:36:30
I need to replace the front passenger tyre (currently pirelli P7 i think). The other 3 tyres are accelera alpha and can anyone advise if it is better to replace with accelera alpha again or use the spare which is a new michelin vx3a?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have always beleived in matching tyres on the same axle....I will even replace 2 if one 1/2 worn needs replacing.

My preference is for the whole car to be on the same....but not always economic.

same tyre on the same axle - always ;)

when i used to sell tyres there were - crossply, fabric braced radials SR,HR,VR, steel braced radials SR,HR,VR, (remoulds available in crossply and SR radials) though few low-profiles, but the rule was the same, except some mixed radials back, crossply front or steel radials back and fabric front...  thank goodness those days have gone, but is anybody still using crossply these days?
