Just been discussing the with the mrs., neither of us can decide, I personally think it depends on the car she says, they should have them and my son says most cars look better without but some look better with.
Your thoughts?

I think a fully loaded holiday bound Omega looks cool with mudflaps strangely!!
:)
-
Got them on both of mine, they came with them fitted.
I think most cars look better with them on, although they don't really stop all of the crap from slashing up the bodywork.

My sentiments exactly Mick :y

Mudflaps are not there to look pretty - if you have ever followed anyone in wet weather without mudflaps you'll know what i mean... >:(
imho they should be fitted by law, and high level stoplights .. :y

I fitted mudflaps to my MV6 'coz they have OMEGA on them & were given free. I think they look ok & mine at least do go some way to keeping the road dirt/grease/salt off the bodywork & inner arches. :y

Only after 1997
I have mudflaps on my 3.2 and the front ones scrape along the road when I corner around roundabouts and speed bumps :(
-
Got them on mine to protect the sills, seem to do the job.
-
Depends on the cars' body shape as the miggy looks good with a set of flaps, ooer missus :D, but cars like the KA and Rover 200 hatchbacks look terrible.
-
i know they are useful but i cant help thinking that they look like trucks and their mudflaps when i see them :)
-
I bought some for mine in 2008 & i have no regrets. They work & look well :y
-
I fitted mudflaps on my estate and they certainly reduce the amount of spray on the rear screen in the wet.
-
fitted a pair to the back of my mv6 today, look good to me. :y
-
got them on the Elite estate, do look good on it. Don't look as good on the saloon for some reason :-/
Only trouble is i find i am filling them down with spirited driving around the twisties ::)
-
I have them, hers doesnt, I prefer them....and like others to have them, keeps spray down for all.

Ironic really, since the police used to stop all the cars that fitted high level brake lights in there cars in 70s and 80s.
People where fined for having them, now it is the law to have them

I've often fitted them to cars that haven't had them already. In "the olden days" I used to bolt reflectors to them as well. A bit anoraky now in retrospect.
Mudflaps can cause the spray to bounce out sideways which can make overtakes a nightmare. Reminds me of some Dunlop tyres that came out in the 70s(?) Aquajet I think they called them. They were fitted to a lot of XJ6s and you couldn't see the car for spray. The water never got as far as the mudflaps!
[edit]Crikey! Just Googled Aquajet and you can still get them - AND it was the 60s!!![/edit]

Yes i remember fitting those Dunlop Aquajets, especially on Jags, they were very expensive but seem to have remained popular 8-)
