Chalk and Cheese mate.
Indy Car: Effectively reduced to a single make series due to the financial costs.
F1: Build a car so as to bend the rules just enough to be legal basically....bloody expensive.

think indy run on methanol, last i looked anyway? burns invisibly, gives the marshels something to think about,or so they where saying.
Not seen it since the Mansell days.

Indy cars were allowed to run turbo's with a 'boost' button for overtaking :) they have differnt weight limits to F1 cars as well iirc

Thats great - thanks

Difference ? One's very boring the other is mildly boring ! Just driving fast with no contact advisable.
Unlike Touring/DTM/V8...which is soddin' good racin'.

Emphasise being on the FAST Dugg.....
Different horses for different courses and all that...
This year F1 will be a good un though

There's more action in one lap of motorbike racing than those others combined through the whole race ;)

I drove Silverstone once on a Vauxhall sponsored day...drove a Vectra Sri around the track and during the pre-talk one of the chaps who spoke to us, who's driven and raced all events in motor sports asked for any questions at the end.
I asked "out of all the forms of motor racing, what is the most difficult and demanding"...
Without hesitation he said...."touring car"
"It kills you" he said. "You literally finish the race battered, bloodied and broused".
"Surely Formula 1 is as hard" asked I. "No" he said, "F1 needs higher concentration levels due to the speeds involved "but Touring Car is recognised as the most difficult and demanding form of competitive racing you can do."
I DO hope that old schummy brings a bit more excitment back in to F1 though...
