When I was a kid my dad had a Gold VX Royale think it was a 3ltr. Just remember it being a very luxury car for it's day, I was young tho!
Anyone had one or got one still.. pictures etc..

My X father in law had a gold 2.8 one with a red velour interior, we used to call it the pimp mobile. It was a good car until one day there was a bend in the bonnet coming upwards, the front struts had pushed their way through the inner wings ::)

I had a coupe version, V reg silver with burgandy interior, everything was, seats, dash, door cards and carpet. Engine was a 2.8 stright 6 with 3 speed auto. Paid £250 for it , ran it for a year it got hit twice and written off and i collected £1200 off insurance :y :y

"The Senator A and Monza were initially sold in the United Kingdom as the Vauxhall Royale (and Vauxhall Royale Coupé), because the Opel marque was not so well established, but they were also under their Opel names. The vehicle was also available in South Africa as the Chevrolet Senator until 1982, when it was re-badged as an Opel."

Strange, but I saw one today here in Ashford!! :o
It passed me in the other direction and unfortunately could not not too many details, but it was red and on an old "Y" (1982) plate ;) ;) Looked in very good condition, but front seemed to be riding high! ::) ::)

Yep I had a gold one, X reg 2.8 with a dark brown velour interior. Got it with about 42k on clock from a Honda main dealer. Found out soon after purchase that it had had a pretty bad swipe in the side, but did a deal with the seller to get it sorted to my satisfaction. Was a good car though and had it for about 4 years and it gave me very little trouble.

I have noticed it seems to come from Singleton a lot, seen it over there a couple of times and sometimes see it at the matalan roundabout coming from that direction :y

That's interesting as I saw it heading towards Singleton approaching the Matalan roundabout! :o :o
So I think you are right; it lives somewhere up there! 8-) 8-)

I remember when they first came out (78?) pressing my nose on the window of the Dorchester Vauxhall dealer (back in the days when the dealerships were in the high street) when we were on holiday. I was only 13 but I loved the look of the coupe and thought that I'd like one of them when I grow up! Little did I know that I'd have plenty (well Monza's but you know what I mean) :y
Humpy
PS Here's a pic of the Monza digital dashboard. I always liked them but I know others didn't.
