Lost count of the number of times I've driven a long way to see an 'immaculate' car only to find a complete heap of s*** when I get there. I don't expect this one to be any different...

Give the seller a chance! Not everyone is out screw someone else.
These cars are not cheap on the old fuel bill, especially as it's astronomical at the moment.

I bought my car off eBay last year from a seller in Bristol. Living in Swansea, its a bit of a trek. So after a few calls, I made the trip and viewed the car. Test drove and checked the paperwork.
Minus £700 later, I was the proud owner of a facelift 2000 X reg 2.5 Elite. Excellent condition, £1100 of work done on it's last MOT, including belts/Tensioners etc.

Reason for selling....family bought a motorhome.

No need for a big car, little runaround AND a motorhome!

Some people are genuine....not many but some!

Are you one of the genuine??? :-?

Yes, maybe I'm a bit cynical after my experiences, your car sounds like a real bargain and they can be found if you look hard enough for long enough, I'm glad you ended up with what sounds like a fine car
Seen too many examples of things that a seller 'declines' to tell you on the phone though, even though you ask about specific things. Saw an Omega last year described as immaculate and the carpets were soaked through with antifreeze from a leaking heater matrix, with all the windows steamed up and seats damp, among various other (serious) problems. I drove 100 miles to see it and I didn't even bother with a test drive.

Hence my cynical nature
