Well, i have just returned from a month in Australia where it seems every other car is an omega or to be more precise Holden Commodores, the range is massive from V6's to V8's, saloons to LWB estates, and ute's in both 2 and 4 door form which look fantastic. The new commodore (omega) looks a fantastic car and having driven one can say is a lovely car to drive, the only question is why oh why do they not bring them to England, they are better than anything that VX offer and are a direct replacement for our Omega!!! >:( :-? :-/
-
I wonder too......I love the VXR8 which is the same car, but why oh why dont they make a lower spec and lower powered one for all of us Omega owners to look forward to.....??

They do, just not imported here grrrr >:(

I think they're cracking looking things, like them a lot, would be ideal as an Omega over here.

They are the natural successor to our old omega's as they are the successor to the ozzy's outgoing "omega's"/commodores, i do think GM have missed the boat on this one imho

I quite fancy a Holden Omega sportswagon ( estate )
does anyone know what it would caost to import one?
-
I find it highly unlikely they are built in Australia as they don't make anything there! Maybe they could be imported in bulk from point of manufacture?
EDIT: for a 20 foot, fully insured container from Aus to UK (port to port ONLY!) works out around the £3k mark and takes approx. 7 weeks! A guy on the Morris Minor forum shipped 2 early Minors back over to the UK.

I have a Commodore SS 4-door - and yes, it's great. 400HP, 4-doors, no traction control and looks like a taxi That's my idea of fun.
it was imported long before I bought it, but you canget roll-on/roll-off from Aus to the UK. Last time I costed it it was about £1500.
But then again, Gordon the one-eyed Scottish moron will relieve you of 10% import duty and VAT on whathe thinks it's worth.
With a container, at least you have a chance of getting spares in as well.
I've a mate just moved to Aus - let me know if you want something sorting out.

Yes, built in Ozzy land at the holden factory :y

great idea of the 6L V8 becoming a 3.L V8 when potering about town or stuck in slow moving motorways ;D ;D
I watched the video clip on how the engine does this the person that thought it up deserves a pat on the back :y

Just taken a look at the Holden website and found.....
The Epica (Holden obviously)
Down at my local Vx dealer, Pentagon they have the Epica (Chevrolet)
Was told the Chevrolets are shite.......so what's different about the Holden Epica, if anything.
Looks the same to me, different grill.
Mick ;)

:) the great thing is in Australia, if you dont have a V8 well you've settled for what is obviously the basic cry baby version :D
The best is the new w427, my uncle has one in black and it is biblically quick. The standard 375kw 7.0 V8 sounds like your in the middle of a storm. The sound is amazing,, and then when he got it "tweaked" a little, well it only got better...
Will get my hands on one one day... go here to have a look... *dribble*

why not drive it back yourself? many have done it, it is only 10,000 miles....though how much petrol would that be? :-?
@ 5.50 GBP a gallon, 1,800 GBP plus hotel bills, 500 miles a day, 20 days.... ::)
why not just move to Australia ;D

Sounded like money well spent. :y It will be awesome when the other half of the gearbox works. ;)
Not that it felt like it needed a gearbox at all, actually. ;D
