Had new brake pads fitted. Brakes feel like the abs is kicking in when coming to a final halt, you can feel it through the pedal. Been suggested that it may be a fault with the abs sensor/s ? are these expensive? I am not really willing to spend much more on this car, been saying that for 2 years ::) ::)
It has been suggested that if I remove the abs fuse this will rectify the fault, albeit loosing the abs :-/
Any suggestions please..... :)

Its the usual cause on most makes, the rings get rusty and either crack or rot to the stage where they dont register

Is this an easy repair then Mark? The car has been stood for several months now, which may then explain the problem. I have had it out and about a little but was originally took off the road because of the brake pads, not the abs problem.. :)

maks no odds if they are standing or not.
You need to inspect them and look for damage, cracks and missing teeth
Its a mitsubishi so nothing will be a cheap and easy fix in this department sadly

really like the look of these cars...only owner i know said its a bit juicy, but didnt establish what engine, and as with most jap cars the interior was a bit disapointing. Estate looks fairly enormous.

I used to have a 98 galant v6 manual and it was very good on fuel(compared to my mig) but sadly was too light for towing our caravan,it was a lovely car though,I still miss it :'(

Ours is V6 Auto, when I used it for work I used to average 27mpg, lots of running around the town.... :) And it is certainly a quick car... :y
My Citroen C4 Grande Picasso averages 46 MPG in diesel semi auto..... :) :) :)

....
Ours is V6 Auto, .......
If you think of Clarkson saying a Capri is a Cortina in a party frock, isn't the Gallant the Cortina compared to an FTO being the Capri?
My brother used to have a Mivec FTO semi-auto ...... it could shift. For FWD car is wan't bad for torque steer & cornered billiantly :y

Ahh! A VR4. :-* Got very tempted by one of them myself a few years back. Made the sensible decision in the end, though.

I don't much like the shape of his dyno plot, though. Talk about all or nothing. :o

2.5 V6 24v with twin Turbos and 4wd. Only 276 BHP. You'd hate every minute of it. Oh, and it's 200 Kg lighter than an Omega too.

Maybe. But with them being rare as rocking horse doo and japanese parts being 'kin expensive even for something as common as Mrs. KW's MX-5 well, do you feel lucky?

They wanted over £300 for a coil pack. ;D
Fortunately I sourced one considerably cheaper elsewhere. Also fortunately, that is the only part other than consumables that that car has needed in 117k miles.
