Title: Will it pass???
Post by: ScottieMV6 on 01 April 2010, 09:33:39
Well dropped my car off at the MOT station this morning after giving it a good blast down the dual carriageway to clear the cobwebs.

So the big question............will it pass or fail???

Maybe I should run a book on this. Personally I am expecting a fail that way i won't be disappointed!! ::)

I've only had one straight pass since 1999 - always seem to fail on running gear  :(

I bought a facelift 2000 X reg 2.5 Elite, with 2 weeks MOT. Loved the car, but took a big risk.....it paid off. In for MOT, passed without an advisory!! Could not believe my luck!!

It can happen, occasionally!  :y

No, failed.................but only on rear brake pads which is both inexpensive and easily fixed :y

Advisory for white smoke when accelerating though which still concerns me. Going to sort the brake pads and try and clear the fault codes first though :y

Oh Nice One, Scottie  :y At least you can get your 12 months ticket and have plenty of time to sort the rest out.  :y :y

Thanks Phil. Thats what I thought. It seems that as far as bodywork etc goes the car is solid so might be worth spending a few more quid on :y

Surley you should know if your car is going to pass an mot? appart from maybe hidden corrosion underneath if your not keeping an eye on things throughout the year then your neglecting your car. remember an mot only proves the car was ok at the time it presented for a test not for the next 12 months.  ;)

just seen the thread haha i see you point

try taking a decatted impreza for an mot. you have to have a friendly mot tester.

allowed max co2 or somthing was 0.03 mine was reading 9.2! haha but the im sure petrol used to go staigh from the tank, out the exhaust and down a drain, felt like it on the wallet anyway  :D
