Title: Updated BMW pics, now with chrome.
Post by: Del Boy on 04 April 2010, 19:42:02
Here's how the BM looks now, with all it's chrome add ons and better images than before. Added chrome bits are, mirror surrounds, wheel nut covers, rear light surrounds, side repeaters, chrome lower bumper strip, and chrome number plate holders.

I think the rear lights give it a touch of class. Before they look so boring and samey.  :y

Can't comment on the rest though.

think i preferred rear light clusters without chrome myself  :-/

But if you like it thats all that matters  :y

Interesting to see BM also suffer from that 'soft touch' plastic that the facelifts have, can see it starting to go around the start button:

Sorry Del, but the rear light chrome surrounds really spoil it for me. The rest of the chrome looks ok, but they look fake. I've found from a fair few people I talk to, that people with chrome on their cars they want to de-chrome and people without want to add it. BMW on the e39 and e60 offered de-chroming.

Yeah, this just looked so boring without the chrome bits, I mean boring and dull too. It's the wheels, I think they just look totally wrong and I don't know why.

Yeah they don't suit the car some how, in-fact most of the 'standard' BMW alloys look a bit shite if i am honest, 19" M Sport ones look best:

Makes ride a bit poor though  :(

SE suspension is comfy, they're 18" MV2's, spider style is 19's  :y I want the 19's too, but £300 for one wheel, or £420 for replica's brand new but thats without tyres, which are 245/35/19 and 275/30/19, so that another 500 on tyres for a decent make  :(

Spoke to cem before about it, think too many costs in importing  :(

Also wrong hand drive....

Bikes could be an option though, UK used prices for bikes have gone up as loads are being taken over, as all they need is a speedo change

import taxes are sky high.. thats the reason cars are so expensive.. but bikes really can make some profit..

as there is no right-left ..  but govt take many precautions to prevent this kind of trading.. you can only bring one for a fixed period of time :(

over 2 litre nearly % 110 and some extras..

I know of a guy who does this with bikes, only spoken to him a few times. I've seen him towing a trailer with 4 big bikes on it, buys them from auction and takes them to europe. I know nothing about bikes, so don't laugh when I get these names wrong, but last time he bought I think BMW R1200, Honda Pan European, and some sport bike things. All ex police, some from the Metropolital Police. In blue and Silver. Some forces have the sports bikes aswell. Apparently the bikes are really cheap, and he makes good money. Tunnie, feel free to PM for more info.
