Title: VXPRO Engines
Post by: joshwyatt on 06 April 2010, 19:50:00
I posted in the topic about Zafira's, but thought a new topic with the details about the Omega engines might be a good idea. Most people will already have tihs information, but I thought it was interesting. I know a replacement engine is always the last option, but these prices I thought seemed reasonable.

Y26SE (2.6 V6) part number R1000146A, price £1,502.

Y32SE (3.2 V6) part number R1000151A, price £1,609.

Z22XE 2.2 16V) part number R1000141A, price £1,298.

And all come with a three year warranty, I guess if you had an excellent condition Omega, but with terminal engine issues no names mentioned  ::) this may not be a bad idea. In all seriousness, if I had a late 3.2 Elite with a dead engine, this wouldn't be a bad idea. I know engines can be found elsehwere much cheaper, but I'd hope that coming from Vauxhall and claiming to be fully rebuilt; esentially you're getting an almost brand new engine.

think is you can buy the car attached for that money, be it with maybe 100k on the clock  :-/

If rest of the car is in good condition, i guess its worth considering

Hmmm, are those trade club prices, do they include VAT. and I presume you can fit it yourself.

OK for those of us that can do the job themselves, but if you had to pay full retail + fitting + VAT. then no way on earth is it worth it I am afraid.

But if you can do the job yourself, then maybe better off with second hand engine.

As a side note I was browsing ebay the other week, as you do, and people where asking a minmum of £995.00 for a 3.2 engine. makes your original prices rather worthwhile.  :y

The VXPRO engines are superb quality and re-manufactured not re-furbed.

They even come with fluids and new timing belts!
