Photo says it all really,
Was a reasonable day yesterday, so got around to fixing the slightly leaking (!) cam cover gasket :-/.
All done now, and thankfully no leaks, mind you cost also have to get me couple of replacement rubber plug covers, and when drying them off had bit of the rubber just break off without warning ! :-?.
Was also cursing, as the rear 90deg breather hose (right at the back on the right) had the factory spring clip right where I couldn't get to it >:( . And also found one of the breather hoses on the the otherside was split >:( .
Oh, and joy of all joys, found that I've got a crack in my windscreen today when cleaning the windscreen >:( .
Let's hope when this is done, I don't have any more problems for a while now.
My custom ideas for it just seam to be getting put on hold at this rate :-/ .

yup that gasket was cream crackered, hope you used genuine gaskets when re-fitting

Oh..yes..
No short cuts here, genuine gasket, O-rings and the proper black coloured gasket sealant stuff.
Did it properly, took off all old gasket left behind, cleaned every surface off, etc.
Took my time to do it, as didn't want to rush & then so have to do it again.
Know it's only a 4cyl engine, but honesly no wonder I prefer the old school engine, there's ruddy electronic cables & sensors everywhere !.
My old cortina cover would of probably taken 15mins to do, and no cursing that you've got Opac moving in with their oil storage around your plugs !. ;D

You should work on a V6! ::) ::) ::) That's when you know you have a fight on.........with pipes, cables, cable trays, and bad design! :D :D :D ;)

4 pot is a doddle compared to the V6 nightmare!
-
Them 4-potter's don't know how lucky they are!!

the left side on a v6 is easy but the right side grrrrr all them pipes wiring loom and everything else you can think of to get out the way
oh and i cheated and used pat parts the first time and it punished me for it as a month later it had to have gen parts on so went straight for gen on me new v6
