Hi All. I have a 2000 2.0 16v Auto with sports switchable box. Mileage on mine is only 58k and it's is fully serviced (New Oil, Air Filter etc....) with a new cambelt, so assume timed up correctly?
What should I expect in terms of MPG? :)
Books says 27-28mpg, 20 about town, 30+ on a run? be happy with that! :y

those figures are about right, if your not heavy footed :y

I ws getting about 25 mpg around town during the winter, noe it is warmer and i have just had a major service i'm hopling for better figures, though that cat needs changing... :-/

I'd agree with those figuares...but thats what i'm getting with a 3.0 litre although in fairness I'm VERY light footed...I have to be with fuel the price it is.
MPG questions pop up quite often and its rather interesting. The cars weigh SO much that a 2.0 has to work hard to get them moving. A 3.0 does the job nicely BUT can result in high fuel bills.
Perhaps this is why the 2.5 is the considered the best "overall" engine.

on petrol i got 30-35mpg on a long haul runs, doing 80+ going down to 29 on local runs

My 3.0l auto MV6 is currently reading 27.2 average.
Admittedly its normally in the 24-26mpg bracket, but Marks DTM told me to treat it gentle until the new lifters have settled....

mine does 23-24 running around locally here in hilly cornwall and about 27-28 on a good run, towing a 1500kg caravan it does 17-18(ouch) :-[

Mine is currently saying 7mpg :o
Might have something to do with the ABS ECU knackered and not registering any speed. My current Average Speed is 1mph. ;D
