Well my 3.0 MV6 Omega now has 139,000 miles on it, since new it has had its oil change every 10,000 miles (so the full history says).
Since I acquired the car when it had 112,000 miles on it I have had the oil changed every 5,000 miles.
Air filter & spark plugs every 10,000 miles.
Runs nice!
-
every 3 to 5k
I'd say 10k is little excessive for spark plugs mine have done 30k and still fine
-
V6 here and every 5000 miles ... with a TC card oil is dirt cheap and is the best thing you can do for your engine :y :y :y
-
i get mine changed every 6 months . just had it done tuesday now doing plugs and air filter over the weekend . best to play safe 8-)
-
Every 2.5k miles :y

Every 2.5k miles :y
Oilburners ..... :D :D :D :D :D :D
-
every 5k kms and 10000 km teflon additive fin 25 for both cars..
-
for the sake of a tenner, and 1/2 an hour, I do ours at about 3000 miles.
quite short I know, but you can feel the smoothness improvement even at that interval. Most our trips are short though.
-
Well, my Corsa leaks like a sieve, so by my reckoning I change oil every 5000 miles or so by simply topping up each week.
The coolant is on a similar but slightly slower pattern. :-[
-
Every 3k miles, with new oil filter and Vx 10/40 semi-synthetic ;) ;)

Whenever I can get James to do it. lol.
I have been advised by the man himself every 4000 miles for oil filter and air filter. 3500 to go me thinks, but I canot remember if he did it BEFORE I went to France or after I had returned.
-
I know that I need to do it far more often, but, I will endeavour to change it every 2500-3000 miles as is recommended...
Out of curiousity, how much is oil on TC???

-
Thanks for the reminder must change my oil had a reminder on the display to check oil.
-
Every 3000 miles :y
-
Used to change it at 3k miles on everything but, now most of the cars recently I've had tell me when they need changing, I haven't had to do or get one done for a long time.
-
Oil 3-4k
Air filter (annual)
Fuel filter (2 years)
coolant (VX Red) (2 years)
Brake fluid (with front pads generally)
Pollen filter (2yrs)
-

Cheeky :D - although, your old oil was black, so it's well due a change again, by now.
Once it's clean Di - I would say 3000 to 4000 intervals on your car.
Think you may have misunderstood me about the air filter though - that's good for about 20k IME ;)
I did your oil change on your return from France... :y
-
I try and aim for every 5k. I do no town driving at all. 50m each way every day (motorway) combined with a 220m journey twice a week. Just doing the long commute has done wonders for the engine!
Need to get the lpg fixed mind, I think shell are going to send me an xmas card :D
-
on 1000 mile changes at the moment :y
once the engines cleaned out, every 3000 ish miles or when the oil on the dipstick starts to change colour :y

On a 2.2, permenent marker works well, and easy to read. Works well on her Rover, and filter more exposed on that
-
lol i just put the mileage its due again at on my phone to do list with a reminder alarm set to go off in 3 months!!! if it aint due then i reset it till its due!!
simples!!!! :y

On my beloved Cavalier, every 4 months... Car does about 10k a year.
On the Omega. Had it a few months, check the dipstick every couple of weeks..... haven't changed the oil yet ;D
Weather is getting better, so might consider it next week. I just cant fall in love with this car like I did the Cav.
-
Every 5000 but Mobil one full synthetic
-
every 6 months
new oil new road tax
easy reminder
-
I do a lot of motorway miles, about 600 a week min, so I change it every other month now, expensive, but I think needed for a high mileage V6 (148k).
Anybody think its overkill?

Quite the opposite - thats 5k miles ;)
-
Good,....I hoped you'd say that, my missus thinks I'm mad doing it every 8 wks........just found a cheap source of oil though, so not too bad as filters are cheap.

GM semi synth is under a tenner a can, and is good quality, so you know what I use ;)
-
Thats good, I'm paying £7.70+vat for semi synthetic from Costco, but its AC Delco I think........

Costco tend to sell Chevron and Castrol iirc? I'd rather use GM (Fuchs) to be honest. I chuck GM in the Omegas, Rover, Kawasaki and the lawnmower ;D ;D ;D
-
GM is £32 + VAT for 4 x 5l on Tradeclub
-
I'd better get a tradecard or something, then. How do I go about it??
Just checked.....its Castrol. Thought that was quite good oil????

Urgh! Wouldn't put that in the lawnmower, let alone my pride and joy ;D
Castrol seems to suffer in Omega engines with mayo on cap and in breathers.
-
Whoops!! just put that in for the next 5k...........
never mind, isnt in there long enough to hurt this time.
How do I get this TC??
Will put GM in next time!
(incidentally...read post about CCRT700 sim...interesting!!)
Thanks TB.

Join ABS. Or if in car trade, just apply at dealer.
www.tradeclub.co.uk lists participating dealers

So it seems we all do it regular lol.
Oil is the blood of your car and cars don't have kidneys so the more the better especially on short runs.
-
Every 6k with 5/40 fully synthetic from Unipart in the Omega, 10/40 Semi synthetic on the Cavs, Veccy, and Nova. Again all Fuchs oil and as i used to work there still get staff discount through ex workmates.
