I use my car around town more than I do on runs, which is costing me a little too much really.
Im going over the pro's and cons in my head on a regular (too regular lol) basis of whether an LPG'd V6 Omega estate would be better for me than a 2.5TD manual estate.
Diesel near me is 117.9p a litre and LPG is 60.9p a litre.
My 2.5TD saloon auto is getting me around 25-30mpg (usually around 25mpg, dont know why its been as high as 30mpg this past week lol).
I know that I am asking alot of questions lately, but I just want to make sure that I get the right car and engine for my needs!
Thanks for your patience :) :y

Diesel 117.9 / litre = £5.35 gall. 25 mpg = 21.41 pence /mile , 30 mpg = 17.8 mpg
I run a 3.2 on LPG and am presently averaging 14.15 pence/mile over 20,000 miles of which a LOT is towing, you might do better and get down to 12 pence /mile.
So a saving of between 5 and 9 pence / mile .. it now depends on 2 factors ... how many miles you do per year (month) and how much you pay for the conversion.
If you take a DIY at around £700 pounds ... worst case (5 p /mile)it would take 14000 miles to pay for itself ... at 9 p/mile it would take about 8000 miles.
The figures change all the time with driving style, petrol cost and LPG cost .. but IMHO the pence/mile is the best indicator

Thanks Entwood :y
Its hard to say how many miles I do really. I do around 200 miles a week, sometimes more, sometimes less! I've done 86 miles since Saturday, at 28.6mpg (obc figures). This week will 100% be more than 200 miles!
I reckon I am on for doing ~14000 miles this year.
Why oh why didnt I get an LPG car last year when I was doing 4k miles a month???? 3.2 V6 Auto Vectra C at the time, cost me a small fortune!! LOL
