Yes the bumper is a bit OTT but i just want feel what it's like when you put your foot down but for £150,000 plus the cost of the car it would have to very very good BUT for £90,000 plus your Omega (i know this has been on before but for the members who may not of seen it) i think i would have this :y

I don't see why the M5 guy has bothered to be honest, if you de-limit an M5 it'll do 204 MPH so £150,000 has got him 16 MPH, I could think of better things if I had that kind of money.

Can't beat a Golf MK5 R32 noise actually, or a SAAB 2.8  :y

Both lovely  8-) V6's are great, my BM which is an Inline 6 has a nice sound but when you're inside you can't hear it which is very disappointing  :(

I think that M5 is horrible, what have they done to the front bumper?
I really couldn't have it, and as the plate starts with 'LX' a London reg I'd always think it was a 530d in disguise. Most met police BMW's up to '56' plate were LX, LY or LV so everytime I looked at it I'd think it was ex police and fill it up with diesel instead of petrol.
I don't think I even like the look of the standard M5 or even the M sport. I like Del's version, the normal e60, as soon as they've got the M sport bodykit I hate them.

I've been meaning to ask Del, what are the details of your e60? As you can imagine I get asked for all sorts of cars by varying people, so you never know someone may ask for one...and those in the trade should look out for each other. I know the typical spec levels, but not mileage etc on yours?

My son watched a video somewhere, calibrated box thing on the mirror,  204.3 MPH.

Oh and the speedo in my 5 series is deadly accurate (same as Sat-Nav).

He'd never get £150,000 for something that costs 60k new, some people do that (spend thousands and take a huge loss). How do you know it hasn't been done properly and everything quality used? You could also say how do I know it has been, well I don't. I think it would do it though.

There must be cheaper ways to  cruise around selling counterfeit watches? ;)

There's a world of aerodynamic difference between a GT40 and an M5. ;D That's what matters at Vmax. Also, remember that power is proportional to the speed cubed once aerodynamics dominate, which they will at 200+MPH.

I'll take ramair as an example.
For ramair to work the induction system needs to be sealed against air loss. you can quite clearly see the airfilters in the picture therefore the system is not sealed.

Did you see Top Gear when James May tested the Bugatti Veyron? He mentioned something along the lines of whatever horsepower took you to 200mph you would need double that to take you beyond it.

A 220mph +/- 4% Test is available for a fee/Deposit of £10K;only refundable if speed not achieved!

So I pay 10K to do 220mph I could probably hire an Aston with some true street cred for at least a week for 10K

He said to do the extra 100 MPH after 155mph you need an extra 730 bhp, an extra 16 mph isn't 100, so some clever mathematician on here work it out  ;D
