Anything is possible - Aparently.

After watching programs like Chopshop and Pimp My Ride then maybe so.  Would like to see what one looked like in Photoshop before I attempted tho job in all honesty.

First thought of a Mig Cabriolet reminded me of  panther six years ago, but when I checked it out it was nothing like as that was only a 2 seater and I had in my head it was a 4 seater.

Six wheeler miggy with an LS7 power plant and made into a rag top would look a hell of a lot better than that Panther did.

More info for those that might be interested in the origininal idea from Tyrell

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panther_6

Wonder how Tony at WIM would go on with tracking that one.   :y

As said, anything is possible at a price. America had loads of full size convertables in the 50's & 60's even Citroen had the Chapron DS

don't know about 4 doors though, I can only think of (& find) 2 door versions

Nice idea - but the proportions look a bit wrong.
I think the front (now only!) doors would need lengthening to get the proportions right, also to allow easier access to rear seats.
Lengthening the metalwork in the doors is easy, lengthening the windows to match is bloody expensive!

It would also need alot of lateral strength putting in, which could be tricky and would probably rattle yer fillings out!
You could remove the sills and beef up with 50x25x1.6 steel box section then replace the sills, which would help the chassis front/rear strength, but the B and C pillars (what's left of them) would need serious reworking to put the strength back in that removing the roof loses.

Definitely do-able though. :y

i felt almost obligated to post in here about this, I had a very very strange dream the other night, strange enough that i retained alot of detail from it, even down to minor details, and in this dream at one point i found myself at a car dealers with my brother staring at the front of 2 vauxhall omegas, both priced at £8,000 and both with SV51 on the number plate, one was nocturno blue, the other one gold. the weird this is, they were both convertibles, one had the roof down and the other had a hard-top shell on

the rear lights on these were very rounded though and both had a badge on the back saying "eclipse"

thought i'd share!

I would say, it wont work, the chassis will bend in the middle, and will only be holden together by the propshaft.

Why you dont use a base that was made allready stronger for convertible use like lets say.... a Monaro?  :D

just get a broken one, cut its roof off, put omega tech, panels, wings hood and so on it (might need some welding as the monaro seems to be wider) and done.

or easyer, just get a calibra, and cut its roof off. ;)

Not if you weld in some decent box section inside the sills, it won't. ;)
