Post by: Jimbob on 15 April 2010, 10:37:40
Just had post from Tradeclub

their new Dexos2 5w30 oil is also gonna be on the buy 3 get 1 free deal

£50.10 for 4 x 5L + vat

1 x 5l retails at £40 + vat  :o

So looks like some future commitment to the offer with a bit of luck :)

A good bit more expensive than the old 5w30 IIRC. Or perhaps I'm mistaken. :-/

It's certainly a good price for oil of that spec.

interesting they just list the old semi, and the new synth on the tradeclub site now, so looks like the old fully synth has been superceeded.

from the pdf, the old oil was

Longlife Super synthetic 5W30
5 litre part number 93165212
Offer price for four cans £48.87

versus the new

5W30 dexos2
5 litre part number 93165557
Offer price for four cans £50.10

so not much difference

Ahh, OK. not a significant difference. Something in the back of my mind had the old oil cheaper.

yip, picked up a 20litre drum (as opposed to 4x 5litre bottles) today for a mate,(thinks he's posh owming a beemer) at even  cheeper price of £47.14, but then its not so easy to poor, and doesnt have the litre marks on the container, but then again, the big drum is easier to store the old oil when empty, local garage has an oil burning heater, which is a bloody good idea, so we take all the waste oil there. Nearer than the dump and no queue. Smart!

plus vat of course

interesting, need to double check but think work mates beemer 330 runs on that stuff, and he pays still money for oil
