its the bit between the track rod ends, that the steering idler and pitman/sreering arm thing attach to. The nomal non mv6 one is on trade club, but as i have just bought facelift lowered sports chassis mv6 front shocks and springs i thought i'd better check there's nothing else on face lift mv6 suspension that changes from my model to that model.
andyc tells me the only part he can find is the centre tie rod p no. 9193087 which is not on trade club and costs 171.55 incl vat.
Is it needed? whats the differance? any ideas on aquiring one a bit cheeper? i doubt any breakers would have one ln such a rare car.
...and will i need a ball joint breaker to remove my old one?
obviously i dont want to set the car up with new shocks, then have to set up again to change the centre tie rod if the car needs it.
Cheers
Chris. :)

I cant think why it would be different on an MV6.
It cant offer anything by being stiffer and the distance between centres (pitman arm and idler arm) are the same.

I cant picture the parts in my head well enough to work out how dropping the ride hight 15mill would affect the steering set up, obviously the camber will need resetting and then the tow, maybe threads on track rod adjusters are a differant length, the tc web site mentions long and short track rod ends but not sure which models they apply to, the "excluding lowered sports chassis centre tie rod" is listed, cut and paste below.

should add, this is only on the face lift model, i balieve...?
-
so the chassis drops X amount, but the camber angle will obviously need to stay the same onde re sdjusted, so does that mean the center tie rod is nearer the hub or further away? there by needing shorter or longer thread or length generally?
As Mark says i cant see it being much differant as existing parts dont move, just adjust out...or in...which ever.

Lol, the short track rods are the inner ones.
The centre tie rod is the same (as you would expect)....in fact, all the steering actuator sections are the same for MV6.
