Ok, I have the X30Xe, and love it. What I need to know is:
Is the 3.2 a better engine, and is it just a bored-out 3.0?
Is the 3.2 cheaper to run, or the same?
Are parts harder to get hold of, and are some 3.0 parts interchangeable?
Can I put a 3.2 plenum/throttle tube setup on a 3.0 and is there any advantage?
Is a 3.2 a straight swap should my 3.0 fail?
Thanks All!!
Mike. (p.s. nothing wrong with my 3.0, but would like a 3.2, dislike the facelift and prefer the mini-facelift, so might change the engine, box, and diff)

Is 3.2 better? Well it uses coil per plug, which seem to be less reliable than dis packs so not really!
Its not cheaper to run, its no different.
Which parts? basically same engine so no different to 3.0
3.2 is DBW, so plenum set-up is different.
You would need to keep your plenum for non DBW bits, also 3.2 has no EGR and so on, so not sure if it would be straight swap

3.2 have post and pre cat sensors.. and will be a headache..
if you want more performance , there are some mods that can give better hp than the 3.2..
port polishing, head work, remap, custom exhaust manifold (wont be cheap) etc..

;D ;D
now seen your other post.. you already know what to do..
anyway I wouldnt go for 3.2 .. more complex engine..

Convinces me to improve 3.0 V6 not get a 3.2 V6 then.
IF, later on I get a newer estate, it will have to be a facelift-----will get a 3.0 again, then.
CHEERS ALL!!

not sure there exists one for miggy but a high flow water pump and an external oil cooler would be my primary concern if I decide to mod v6..

If you're talking about serious tuning, don't forget the fact that the 3.2 has a forged crankshaft whilst the 3.0's is cast. :y
Other than that, it's swings and roundabouts. No SAI, EGR, ICV to get in the way on a 3.2. Better exhaust manifolds, 200 cc more against a little less compression, COP ignition (less reliable than coil pack and leads? Maybe - undecided on that). ECU is flash based so less easy to chip and the required relocation of lambda sensors. Choose your weapon...

Performance wise, nought between 3.0 and 3.2. I reckon throttle response is better on 3.0l though.
I have no preference for either to be honest - 3.2 is easier to work on, but more expensive for bits.
