Title: Santa Pod - cheap Tech2 work
Post by: TheBoy on 10 October 2006, 19:22:11
Anyone needing any Tech2 work down at Santa Pod, I will be taking it with me.

I do have to make a charge to recoup some of the huge costs of the device, but I'm much cheaper than dealers ;), and special rates at the event  :y

Code read for a single onboard system (and reset if possible) - £5
Code read for all onboard systems (and reset if poss) - £10
Cruise enable - £35
Transponder/remote fob programming - £15 (bring your V5 along, carpass also essential)
MID reprogram - £15

Non forum members there will be charged more  ::)

Getting a few PMs about v5 thing.

The v5 for key programming is an extra security measure to ensure the car is yours. It would be irresponsible for me to program keys/transponders without seeing it.

I had my Omega key cut and a veccy key cut and programmed both by a an auto locksmith......did cost me £180 for both keys  :( .....but he didnt want to see my V5's just carpass and another key was good enuf.....never thought of that Jaime....and presumbly neither did the autolocksmith  :-/

So you could have borrowed car off a mate/collegue/rental etc (therefore have key). Chances are, carpass kept in glovebox doc pack in car...

V5 gives that extra layer of security. I hope(d) that other people with ability to program security system are equally responsible...

Well yes......so good idea asking to see the V5.

Tho i dont keep the doc packs with carpass in any of my cars.....as i dont want them getting lost!
Also I probably would on my Omega as I drive it.....but have you seen how small the glovebox is on a facelift......if i put the doc pac in it, there wouldnt be any room left for anything else.

hello!  i am just trying my luck here.  i drive a rover 214i (i.e. 1998 200 series).  do you by any chance have the equipment to program a fob for me?  if not, do you know anyone who does?  i keep getting quoted ridiculous amounts and some garages refuse to do it unless they are supplying the fob.  any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
