Title: Tyres
Post by: cmeonthemove on 30 April 2010, 19:58:47
Further evidence came to light today of the lack of maintenance by my Elite's previous owner. Got a puncture today in one of the rears, and as both rears were cracking I decided to get both replaced. Turned out that the fronts are 205/17s where the rears were 225/17. Seems the previous owner replaced the fronts at some point with the 205s as they were cheaper, but not considered the difference with the rears. It certainly would explain the nose down look the Elite had.

The rears are now 205s as well (Bridgestone £51+vat each) and the handling has improved no end.

they sound a bit narrow to me....should be 235 45 17's.....

Insurance could get tricky in the event of a claim....

Good luck with those horrible things on the back  :-X

On the upside, when I put them on my old tractor, I only had to tolerate them for 4k, before I'd shredded them to bits ::)
