Not started it, no engine codes, it is Mint. Still on original tyres maybe, going by the cracks on the sidewalls. Original exhaust, very slight rust in the usual places. Interior is spotless, all the touchable surfaces still have that original new moulded feel, not worn down at all.
2013 with gid.
assuming its in your favourite colour and you wanted such a car, how much would you pay to own it?
as said, its mint.
-
Is it silver, with black interior?

lets suppose it is your favourite colour, what ever that may be.

Mmm, that's an interesting question.
Assuming it was in my favourite colour (black with shadow grey leather) then in reality I'd pay a fair old bit for it.
I'd happily pay anything up to £5k for it.
The motor trader part of me, always thinks about the profit, so in that case I'd pay no more than £3200 or so for it as it'd need new tyres and an engine service, cambelt etc.
Is this a real car, or hypothetical?

Depends on how bad any rust is - £3-£5k I'd pay. Maybe more if 'it worked for me' on the day

I feel someone is going to buy another miggy ::) ;D

no rust, bar exhaust. Not even wheel arches.

Yes will need belt and tyres.

Grumpy when driven normally, much happier when driven below 3k rpm or 85mph

Yous has about 92k miles iirc?
NCDC 2015 with CID, and looked a very nice example.
Clearly, you'd get more for it on Autotrader or ebay then here I suspect.
If it were mine, I'd probably put it up at £3250...maybe a bit more...possibly even nudging the £4000 mark.
It's just the luck of the draw really, you've just got to wait for that one person who's after it.

I feel left out now :'(
If I offer you £4.89 will that qualify me for the eejit club? ;D
If you're coming to the Oxford meet, I'll take some photo's and advertise it on your behalf if you want? Being a trader, I can always get that bit more for a vehicle (in theory) ::)
Then if a firm offer comes in you can ascertain whether you want to sell and buy this 22k mile one. I've got to ask though, what colour is it? If it's blue or black I'll be very jealous.
-
If it wasn't for the colour, I'd make a sensible offer for yours chrisgixer.... ....still be under £3k though...

It's amazing how colour can be such a massive factor.
There's an '03' plate 3.2 Elite being sold for £7995 with 17k miles. I was going to go to the auction it came from, but don't like silver Omega's. Now, if that had been black I would have bought it.
Ultimately, I sit inside and don't see the colour ;D but it just has to be black or blue for me.

Can't go wrong with Nocturno blue. ::)

I know what you mean, i'm in two minds about the black facelift elite i have just purchased. I could always fit the diesel engine and manual box in the Elite. ::)
-
suprising posts though, only two people would buy a low mileage 3.2 elite.
Maybe it too specific, how much would you pay for your ideal omega, what ever that is...?
-
I sold my Y-Reg (2001) 2.6 with 50k miles and did not buy another Omega, because low-mileage ones were difficult to find and I figured that I will have to buy an Omega with higher mileage than the one I just sold... so the thought of a 2003 with 22k in 2010 is mouth-watering.... such is life.
-
I think it's difficult to put myself in the position. I have a relatively late Omega I'm happy with so it doesn't really appeal. If I were looking for one AND the car was right subject to an inspection and test drive I think I'd be prepared to shell out quite strong money on the basis that it's rare to find a genuine low mileage car, I tend to keep cars until they die, so purchase price wrt resale value is not important.
I would view it as a car that would do me for 10 years or so and after that there would be no replacement Omega so I'd probably pay what it costs within reason.

and your £limit? just out of interest?
should add, i'm asking a rather personal question, i suppose. Not everyone would like to air thier view on the net maybe?
I was prepared to pay 6k for my example, but the colours where wrong, for me.

Can't really say... and even if I did, I know I do get carried away when I see a car I like even if it is over my planned budget.
But generally I am with Kevin Wood on this one - I ran my 2001 CDX for nearly 7 years, when you keep cars that long what matters is to get the right one, not the buying price, because the resale price will be almost marginal compared to the buying price anyway.
In reality anyone buying an 2003 car today and keeping it for 7 years can expect to sell it for beer money....
Sad but true.

It's a dilemma I am currently in (and have been for a while) ::) ::)
As many people know I have been on the look out for a late 3.2 Elite Estate and Josh is sure he has one on the way through. Mileage isn't a major concern for me TBH as long as the vehicle is well cared for.
I'm still up in the air as to whether I'll actually go for it though, having done all the work to get my mini-facelift up to scratch! :-/ :-/
But... If I were in a position to go for it, without the dilemma I'm currently in, I'd be willing to pay very strong money... Probably close to Roger Budden prices :o :y
-

and I am in the same boat to a degree as LD, Josh knows I am after a late Estate Elite, but I dont want daft mileage on mine.
But if Josh had bought that Elite with 17K on it and his price wasnt daft then I would have had it, As my 2 colour choices are Nocterno Blue and Silver. (Wish I had been more open minded and said Saloon or Estate now) (Silly me, I never learn)
My ideal world I want a late Elite but must have less miles than the ones I currently own, which is 63k on a V plate GLS and 85k on the T plate Elite.
GLS is silver so it would have to be Silver or N Blue to replace it. :y
-
'interesting debate here! I too would be keen to consider a late 3.2 Elite if the right one came up. But anything under 30k miles in a 7 year old car would worry me about lack of use. Cars are meant to be driven not stand still and grow mould, rust in the bores etc. My own 150k miler has had far less trouble than my wife's beemer at half that mileage. Some people might pay way over £5k thinking they are getting a 'new car' but they'd be risking serious cash on a car that could have hidden problems I reckon! :o
-
certainly i would expect the bushes to be in a similar state to the tyres, ie a bit perished.
Not sure about rust in the boors though? if its done alot of exceptionally short journeys or moved around the drive twice a day because its in the way then maybe thered be enough condensation to cause an issue...?
-
Good point about the bushes. Short journeys would kill it for sure but then how long can an oil film last in the bores standing still? I dunno, mind you some new cars spend years sitting in a field too! :)
-
ok time to fess up.
Had to be a bit carefull as the guy who told me about this car might have been interested at one point. Seems he's not now so ....
Its this one, as Josh spotted.

now obviously the asking price is silly, but possibly in line with some forcourt prices given the mileage. And the mileage would appear genuine given the condition.
If this was Black, as has been mentioned i would be very interested but the silver...well... leaves me a little cold, i like the creme/baige interior now as i have it in mine, note there is no brown in it, but as mentioned to buy it would have to be right in every respect, if it was silver and black, yes maybe. If it was black and baige, yes. Silver and baige........ somehow, no! Not that bothered. But the mileage......aaaaaah resist.
Also the seller said he'd been offered 7k, which he didnt take for some reason, and another buyer said he would pay full asking if black interior.
It even has the cargo net for the boot, first aid kit, triangle etc all present.
Wouln't go more than 6k myself. :-/
-

easily 10K £ for a 3.0 or 3.2 manual white..
but would worth more here ;D ;D
-
I really hate beige interiors. Even more than I hate gold, sorry champayne, paintwork. Silver and gold, what an appalling combo!
I would buy it for £4k, and swap the interior.
-
"cream" interior aint that bad with black dash etc, but its not right with silver i agree, the green glass doesnt help, tinted windows might improve things, but forgeting the interior, just looking at the silver...yaaaaaawn. Not even any rust or a dent to brake up the day. How dull. :D
-
Incredible.....
This is the same garage I bought my car from. At the time he had a 52 Silver 2.2 CD with 23k on it with cloth interior and the black 2.6 Elite with black leather that I have now with 81k on it.
I must confess - silver leaves me cold too and I just couldn't take my eyes off the black one with nearly 60k more miles on it. I would have regretted the decision to go for the silver one until I died (I doubt my wife will forgive me until then either as the silver one was cheaper too).
Must admit even in silver - I'd have been tempted by the 3.2 - but not at anywhere near this sort of money.
Seemed a decent bloke to deal with though.
-
My 2001 CDX was Midnight Black with black leather interior... the best combination ever. Sadly I don't have it any more... :(
-
What do you make of the dark grey matt colour that now seems fashionable with 'posh' cars? I have seen a 3-series BMW, a Range Rover, and a Bentley in this colour - and they look like something straight out of Iron Man 2. Also strangely the paint is rough to the touch, a bit like wrought iron - i.e. it is not smooth. Opinions?
-
must admit, when i first hurd of the mileage on the 3.2 i was scepticle, esp as the garage has had several suprisingly low mileage cars advertised before, even Mr Budden doesnt seem get them that low.
But having seen it, makes mine look a bit tatty.
:-/

Love it, but wouldn.t want to own it, looks like its been done with a rattle can imo.

Beige interior? Hopeless with a family surely? The valeting bills would cost more than the outrageous asking price (and that's after you've cleared the bird's nests and mould out of it at that mileage!) ;D

Already have a baige interior, and dont worry, i wouldn't buy a car from Worzel Gumage. ;)

Not started it, no engine codes, it is Mint. Still on original tyres maybe, going by the cracks on the sidewalls. Original exhaust, very slight rust in the usual places. Interior is spotless, all the touchable surfaces still have that original new moulded feel, not worn down at all.

as said, its mint.

Yeah poorly worded Mike, refering to rust on the exhaust by the clamp on the rear box, where they all rust, well, more like a slight brown hugh in this case iirc.
