How many miles to say £40 of LPG are you averaging when driving around town? or even £20 of LPG.
This is based on any V6 miggy, auto or manual, saloon or estate, though estate figures will mean a little more to me as that is what I plan on getting when I sell my tractor.
Thanks!

V6 will be about 12p a mile on LPG @ 58.9p L, so about 330 miles, could go as low as 270 depending how you drive
-
Right, depends on the price (obviously) as LPG prices vary far more dramatically than petrol prices. As an example, if I travel 15 miles through town it's 8p per Litre cheaper than my local :o :o
But... It depends very much on your driving style. I normally see about 270/280 miles around town, 300 mixed driving and 330/350+ on a run. (And I'm not exactly light footed ::))
As an example, this weekend I had done 150 miles town/commuting with quite a heavy foot, then set off to start visiting people... Filled up at 335 miles travelled over a selection of Fast A roads, motorway, traffic jams and twisty country roads, and I still had a little LPG in the tank (although I reckon it would have switched back within about 5 miles)
Normally costs me about £42 to fill so near enough to £40 for your information.
Hope that helps

Not a bad figure... I pay about 62.9ppl (cheapest) and work on about 15 pence/mile :y
Oh... And you can get it as low as 240 easily solo) :-X :-X

I am looking forward to gassing up tonight, to see if 65mph cruise makes much difference.
Trying to beat 10.6p mile at 57.9 per L :)

Most people who have LPG find they go the other way and are heavy on the pedal ::) ::)

Good point as I generally hoof it! usuaslly see about 210 round town and up to 380 on a gentle run. Mine is a 3.0 auto though

I have been getting around 250 miles from 60l of LPG from my MV6 3.0l auto. I haven't been caning it, but not exactly Miss Daisy either (esp going to Oxford meet on Saturday - I was running very late ::))

Thanks for the replies guys!
Im just really trying to work out what is best for me around town, LPG or diesel.. LPG is 62.9p near me right now.
I keep thinking LPG, but I cant seem to get my head around the numbers LOL.
I am currently getting approx 100 miles to £20 of diesel from my 2.5TD.. So swapping to LPG should be cheaper........

:-? :o :-? That's only about 25mpg in a diesel, is that all they do???? might as well have a petrol for that :( :(

^^ As above, you should get more than that from a TD, to get that sort of mpg, would need to be an auto, and only town driving

That seems about right for a TD on town runs only. The TD really suffers in town, particularly the autos.
In pure mpg terms, my 3.0l auto, I get around 25mpg on petrol, and around 20mpg on LPG (although fuel computer will still read 25mpg).
The general rule with LPG seems to be a saving of around a 1/3rd on fuel bills, but the price of LPG does vary dramatically.
Hope that helps

Yea its an auto and is mainly driven around town these days!
Part of me was considering a smaller estate like a V*ctra or a Moondog, but in diesels, as my mate is currently getting around 40mpg around town in his v*ctra, and my old moondog estate used to give me around 38mpg around town.. i know its not about mpg, and is about pence per mile!
Rah, decisions decisions..
Thanks for your input guys :) :y
