Does anyone have a lambda removal tool I can borrow please?
Had the 3.2 manual up on a 4 post lift today, and have decided to replace the pre cat lambda sensor on the 1-3-5 side to see if that makes any difference.
The owner of the 4 post lift did have a lambda removal tool, but it was stolen along with many other tools unfortunately.
-
I used a Wellung666 - changed both very quickly :y :y
-
;D indeed Martin, Lee is excellent. But unfortunately the vehicle that needs the new lambda doesn't have an MOT...so a trip up to Dudley is unfortunately out of the question.
-
iirc I just used a ring spanner :-/
-
At first that's all I thought that would be needed Albs.
But the guy who let me use his 4 post lift said he doubt it'd be easy to get a spanner in there.
And he's certainly experienced in this, and from looking at it, I see what he means...I think the 3.2 manual is probably most like the 2.6 manual, rather than the 3.2 auto as the auto gearbox is larger and things may be in different places. That's the only issue wth ex police, some things are different.

had a quick look up there on another members 3.2 last week, didnt fancy getting that out without removing the cats, seemed very tight access as its above the pre cat.
Maybe remove the cat, swap the lambda, and run it up to Lee to move the second sensor to behind the main cat. (fix's the pre cat code issue, if present)
-
Thanks Chris :y
Space is the issue, and I doubt you'd get a spanner in there. I've had a quick look on ebay, and found lambda removal tools for £23...doesn't seem bad and may come in handy again.
Does anyone know which are the best?

I could always come to you Josh ;) I can get my arms up past the pre-cats ;)

;D that's a very kind offer Lee...but I can't let you come all the way from Dudley to fit a Lambda sensor.
But you can come and give it a wash for me :D

Josh, take a Tunnie along ::) He's got "Go-Go-Gadget Arms" ;D ;D

It is doable josh with just a spanner(22mm IIRC),but is a bit fiddly, already done it mate. :y

Hello Lee,
That's a very kind offer...but I think I may be sorted now, but I really appreciate the offer :y

Hello Lee,

No probs just let me know if you find that you do need it.

Martin witnessed me changing both his fronts with an adjustable spanner, it's having wrists that bend the wrong way that helps. I thought the drivers side would be the hardest as the gap is smaller, tooke me half the time to do that one ;D ;D

Crowsfoot and small 3/8 bar?
Josh, you know I will pop up and change it for you ;) (and it needs ruling out) but I still think it's a loom issue :y

I'm so bloody indecisive...I drove it today, and thought... 'mmm, this is a nice car'
I secretly want to fix it, but at the same time know I should sell it, I've been running more as a hobby than a business...and that's no good.
I went to Vauxhall today, and booked it in on the 18th :-[
I didn't want to hassle all the people I know who'd put themselves out for me, but I think I'll cancel tomorrow morning as they'll make a mess of it.
So, James...I think I'll accept your very kind offer, if that's ok.
I'll get a replacement lambda ordered :y
-
Booked it into Vauxhall :o .... I'm going to give you a slap!!! ;D
Seriously mate, I wouldn't trust many dealers to diagnose something of this nature with competence.
Saturday 22nd.... I will be with you mid morning, and we'll have a good day at it. :y

You'll be walking then? Or will you have already been over to borrow some wheels? ::) ;) ;D :y

I've no doubt I'll have found a suitable, right wheel drive, right number of cylinders, mode of transport, by then :y

I think I deserve a massive slap ;D
I really don't know why I did it, I know a fair few of them at my VX garage, and they're good guys...I explained them the issue and they seemed receptive. I thought as they've got 4 post lifts it'd be nice and easy for them. But, in reality...I know they'll find a list of jobs etc.
I appreciate that James, it'll give me a chance to have a quick look at your new chariot.
I'll give it a good clean, and use some of the chemicals etc I've got here to give it a good once over :y

Definately a deal :y
Can we use pub car park? I feel a loom changing session may be on the horizon.. which will need a solid jacking surface :y

Yeah...shouldn't be a problem...the pub manager's great. I shall check with him, but it shouldn't be an issue...as long as we have a drink in there afterwards :y

;D I thought you'd take a lot of persuading.
