Hello!!
Anyone here have already bought something by MTEC? It's a company that manufactures brake disks for cars, based in UK. They have auctions on Ebay too. I'm interested by a complete set of drilled and grooved brake disks and Ferodo pads (that they propose with the set).

Don't know about the quality of they products but I think the prices are interesting.

What do you think?
Cheers!

drilled & grooved discs are a fashion item, you're not going to get much better value for money than OE items ....... certainly the case in the UK, I can't say for Europe though.

That kind of brake disks are more expensive here in Belgium. I know it's for the look but I think the manufacturing quality is also important and I do not know this company... Finally, I think drilled and grooved brake disks will be nice with my Irmscher body kit and my 18" Sport Star Design rims, no? ::)

Drilled discs will crack within a year tbh.
Very high performance discs are only intended to be used for one/two races around a track. They are not designed for normal road use.
Stick to OE discs IMO.

I thought it was nice but you frighten me there...

yes, the drilling and the grooves are there to expel bits of pad and gas when you're using pads rapidly. And by rapidly, I mean a set of pads every hour or so.
If your pads are lasting longer than that, then you simply don't need grooves or slots.
I have an Opel Evo500, used on the track - vents/holes are not necessary for that.
-
I don't say it's necessary, I just thought it was nice lol.
I was just wondering if anyone here had these disks...

I have them on my omega 3.0 but I have ebc green stuff pads

Looks very nice Jim!
You are satisfied with these disks and pads? Do you feel a difference between these and the originals? Since when do you have your set?

They feel just the same to be honest, I fitted them back in 2004 really just because they looked good 8-)but I have recently fitted Goodridge braided hoses to all 4 calipers which feel a little bit better :y

Mtec used to be on the forum selling super chips for the V6s ;)

I think I will drop the idea of drilled and grooved disks... I have seen the Brembo High Carbon Cast Iron Discs, in combination with the EBC green stuff pads, I think it's a good union... Maybe with a braided hoses kit too ^^
