Of my 2001 veccyB 1.8 dual fuel. :-/
Its been running on 3cyl on petrol for a while now, but fine on lpg.
ECU is complaining injector ciruit on no3 cylinder is open ciruit.....so probably knackered petrol injector.
Last night it started running on 3 cylinders on lpg as well :(
So today in hope of fixing it, 1st changed the plugs.....no difference.
Then i swapped the coil pack from my veccyC onto it....no difference.
So then not having a clue what to check for next.....i took it to my local garage.
After explaining what i'd done.......1st thing they did was a compression test.
No3 cylinder zilch compression :(
Their diagnosis was probably valve knackered....or head gasket.
But they say it doesnt really matter which it is......coz the head has to come off anyway to replace the valve so if it isnt a valve then the heads of anyway so they would just change the gasket.
Garage estimate £300-£400 to fix :(
As this Veccy has done now 210k miles and only has a couple of months left on its taxi plate before its too old......im not gonna be spending that kinda money on it.
So do i try to flog it as project for someone (or for the lpg system)......or turn it into a project for me to fix it :-/
I was pretty confident on sorting out/replacing the petrol injector......tho following the book of lies it does seem pretty involved.
But taking the head off it.....dunno if im capable of that.....well probably could but its the putting it back together that worries me. That nasty job of cam timing.
Want a project Tunnie ;D

a tunnie project might be closer than i thought! :-X

Depends what it owes you really :-/
-
off with the head stick a breaker head on and new timing belt....and Bobs yer uncle :y

Zilch really.....but wouldnt like to see it scrapped as Ive probably spent about 2k in the last year on it....
Gearbox/clutch/exhaust system/droplinks/steering bushes/just about nearly every engine/gearbox mounting/cambelt kit at 200k/new rear&front pads 2 weeks ago/ 4 new tyres 2 weeks ago

Problem then is re-installing the lpg system.....tho spose it would be possible swap inlet manifolds over :-/

Probably about a tenner, plus head gasket, plus cambelt (dont think i would bother with the kit, as i know the rollers etc have only done 10k)

TD and I have made arrangements on this one... hopefully the car will be back with me very soon :y

Its kinda scuppered my plans a bit......going wrong like that....bl**dy inconsiderate car >:(
If it had of lasted another month or two then it would of been plan A
But now its......ex veccyB driver is having my veccyC next week.....after i have the gas problem sorted out.....its started switching to petrol all time again >:( Oh and its got a bearing going......bit of a bearing noise coming from i think either alternator or aux belt tensioner......you can see the tensioner bouncing about a bit on idle.....so its one of the two....hope its the tensioner......thats the cheaper of the two!
Getting the exhaust manifold sorted on my Omega is now a top piority........
Then its Plan B........which i havent thought of yet......
There thats clear on my plans...........as mud ;D

TD,
Seeing as you're letting me have this veccy at such a good price, I will have a look at that exhaust manifold issue for you on the 2.2.
How badly is it blowing, and are there any studs snapped clean against the head?

Cheers m8 :y
Well, ive had the manifold off to have a look.....one might be, the other has definately snapped inside..think its drill time but i wasnt confident of doing that myself so i shoved the manifold back on for the time being.......ticks quite nicely for a few mins when cold.....then goes quite.
