Was just coming back from walking Holly and about to cross the road, when an Omega came past me....slowed down for a speed bump......noticed mv6 on the side and thought i saw 2.6 on the back?
Well any way it appears they dont coz the omega pulled into a parking space just down the road.....so being a nosey git i went to have another look.....Yep definately 2.6 on the back and mv6 on the sides.
Didnt know vx made such.....I thought mv6 was 3.0 and 3.2's only......
-
yup 2.6 MV6 facelift only from around 2001..... :y
-
Yes there is one on e-bay MV6 but 2.6 ::)
-
yep, there was never a 2.5 MV6, in pre-facelift or facelift form.
But as Markie says, 2001 came the 2.6 MV6.
One in manual form at the right price with less 100k miles, might be a replacement for my 2.2! - Should point out a manual 2.6 will be quicker than an auto 3.0/3.2 ;)
-
yep there's 4 silver ones on trader at the moment!!
my eyes didnt decieve me last night when i saw the old style corsa (corsa b) with a 52 plate registration on it!

2.6 in general or just the MV6 spec one?

2.6 in general. 2.5 is quicker than 3.0/3.2 auto.

Yup, 2.6 MV6 was available. Nearly bought on 6 months ago from member Effone, but (unsurprisingly) he sold it before I made up my mind - I decision I have regretted ever since :(

So where does my manual 3.0 come into this equation ;) ;D

2.5/2.6 is geared lower.... so in manual form just as quick as the 3's ;)

Well, having gone from my 3.2 Auto immediately to Bob Dent's old 2.5 Manual, I can tell you that it/they aren't.
Don't get me wrong, in comparison to SWMBO's 2.5 auto, it was quite lively, but wouldn't stand a chance against the 3.2.

In fairness Bobs had a misfire at the time. Now its fixed i can see it giving the 3.0`s a fair run :-/

Appreciated, but it didn't have the misfire initially. Don't know about the 3.0's, but I'm still sticking to what I said about the 3.2 Auto.

Manufacturers figures say 3.2 auto is quicker than 2.5 or 2.6 manual.
2.5i V6 24V CDX 4d 2498 / 6 167 142 8.2 27 15
2.6 V6 24V CDX 4d 2597 / 6 176 142 8.2 26 16
3.2 V6 24V Elite 4d Auto (LT) 3175 / 4 213 149 8.0 23 17

I get to drive a few when Tech2'ing, obviously I tend not to thrash other people's pride and joy, but my MV6 seems much quicker than any 2.5 manual...
