Mem-sahibs Focus (1.8TDCi sport) is refusing to start so we called out the AA (free with LLoyds Bank!). Fella couldnt even open the Bonnet ??
When I got home from work I had a look and a think and put down pressure on nose of bonnet whilst turning the key in the release mechanism and up she popped.
AS I thought,the bump stops on the outer corners of the bonnet were wound out too far meaning the lock was under too much pressure for the catch to release.
Screwed the stops in a couple of turns and everything works as it should.
Could be relevant to omega bonnet mechanisms that are a bit tight ?
Car still wont start,so its off to our local spannerman.
