Title: Focus TDci - Cam belt change
Post by: I_want_an_Omega on 04 June 2010, 10:16:17
Hi,

Does anyone have any experience on changing the cam belt/tensioners etc on a Focus TDci. Its a 2004 car.

The kit seems cheap enough, but thoughts about locking tools, other belts that might need changing, waterpump(?) etc would be welcome.

The belts are supposed to last 100k miles but I'm not prepared to take the risk TBH and am looking to change whats necessary in the next few months.

Thanks .......... Rob

the early ford blocks (1.8td ) had two belts and 40k interval.

your model has one belt at the top. easy to get to and do, only one tensioner and only the camshaft to drive.
bottom half gear driven.
