Well got the official transcript though the post today, confirmed my 2:1 degree in Multimedia Technology & Design BSc, and my 76% (A) for my project :)
Not bad for someone who was in Special needs at school!!
Well just came back from my second interview with a company called 'Pitch', they are a mobile content company based in Covent Garden, London. On my way back i got offered the job! :D :D :D
They offered a very attractive salary , very attractive considering I am a graduate. Trouble is they want me to start next week, which puts the brakes on my Europe trip. They offered me 2 weeks paid leave, but thats the max they can do.
So I am in 2 minds:
a) The job on offer is excellent, exactly what i want to do, with an incredible salary. But i means my europe trip can be only 2 weeks max
b) not take the job and go for the full month, maybe month and a half trip around Europe.
My concern is, that this job is too good to miss. Even the recruitment consultant mentioned the starting salary was very high for graduates.
I guess i could pack a lot in 2 weeks, I did: Chicago, LA, Las Vegas, San Fransisco in 2 weeks before.
Bit confused here about what to do :-/ :-/
-
What time have you got to get up in the mornings :D
-
well done Mate :y Conratualtions !!!!!!!!!! [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif]
My opinion, if its what you want to do, and it has an attractive salary.....take it - NOW :y
-
Cograts on the pass tunnie :y
As for the job, go for it mate then have the 2 weeks sussing out what part of the europe trip you like the best and go for a month when your next lot of holls are due. Just my opinion of course but good jobs dont come by to often these days, and besides with an excellent salary you could get a miggy too. ;D
-
Yeah congrats Tunnie. I would take the job after all Europe will still be there in a few years time :y
-
mornings might be a shocker! :o >:(
Not sure if its a 9.00 or 9.00 start, either way its 2 hours in total each way from here to London.
This job could be my foot in the door to the mobile industry.... :-/

Congratulations Tunnie,well done. :y
Go for the job you may not get another chance and you have loads of time for trips abroad.
-
Take the job Tunnie! They're not that easy to come by you know ;)
And really well done on the 2:1. I am thrilled for you after your non-too-clever experiences at school :y
-
Well done Tunnie :) Congrats :y Have a few beers [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif]
You decide what you wanna do.......but imo you'll be mad to turn the job down!
Have 2 weeks in Europe...then go again next year if you wanna :y .....maybe in a V6 Omega by then ;)
-
If the salary was what you thought the other day, take the job. Save you leave, and next summer do Europe :y
-

Or, if you're sensible enough to stay single for a while, maybe a monaro ::)
-
Yey congrats matey! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
But use your loaf mate, take the job, do the holiday later! 8-)

Don't tempt me! >:(
I'd love a Monaro, but that might have to wait ::)
Jaime - Salary is roughly what I thought, about 1k less than i mentioned i think. (damn recruitment consultants!!!)
99% sure i will take the job, in just a few months i will have some good cash to travel in style 8-)
Maybe replace the Senator with a 3.2 Elite :)
What I would really like to do, is property development. My mum was impressed by my first car project, said i should try houses next!! With this salary and living at home, its a good possibility.
Does anyone know how long you have to have a job, before you can get a mortgage? Does it make a difference if I plan to buy, do-up and sell? & not a long term mortgage :-/
-
Well done Tunnie - top man :y :y [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif]
However, you've GOT to take that job. It's what you want, it's the salary you want and as Pete and others have said, Europe ain't going anywhere.
With the new job and decent salary, you'll be able to do Europe at a better time suited to you and your company, and in a bloody good car that you probably can't afford right now. Mark.......TAKE THE JOB!!!
-
Well done - looks like a SHORT Euro trip to get a taster!
-
TAKE THE JOB!!!!!!
End Of >:(
-

Congrats on the 2.1 mate :y
If I were you i'd take the job, you can put off the Euro trip until next year when you will be entitled to full paid leave.
I take it from the career path you have chosen, you decided not to go down the route of professional footballer ;) ;D

I'm after that McDonalds Litter Patrol job - a nice outdoor job, nice coat, a pickup stick to save your back, and meal vouchers.....
My claim to fame is being turned down for a job at McDonalds once....
-
As for mortgages, I got one the minute I got a firm job offer, I just needed a deposit (small) and 6 months bank statements.....interestingly, the same bank wouldn't give me a current account as I had no credit history!

Just like to say a public thanks to chopsdad for a very informative PM on the world of mortgages!
-
Well done on the 2.1, its a good reward after all the work you put in for all those years. As regards the job, it sounds good, grab it before someone else does ( a bird in the hand......) :y. Especially if its in the field you want to go into. I made the mistake of joining Marconi several decades ago, and things have been going downhill ever since ! ;D
-
Tunnie, as all the others have said, well done on the 2:1 :)
As for the job v trip?
Take the damn job, that way we won't have James moping around missing you and those "special" moments you guys seem to share! ;D
-
Well done on the degree! It's a good feeling I remember vaguely..
Sounds like your mind's made up regarding the job. I think it's the right thing to do.

-
a good job with a great salary is the perfect foundation for the rest of your life, which will include as many big europe trips as you like!!
if you turned down the job and went to europe for a month, will you be returning to just as good an opportunity?
-
Just wanted to add my congrats. Well done mate and I wish you success with the job.
-
cheers guys! :y
Going to send an e-mail now and accept the job :)
-
Came in late on this one but as one of my friends once said to me when i was in a similar position to you now....'' Take the opportunity of a lifetime in the lifetime of the opportunity.'' Its taken me deep along roads that i would not have taken. With many a twist and turn that i would not have made.
Congratulations on such a good result from your hard work at Univ. Been along the special side as well at school and still managed uni x2 and a decent job. :y
Remember if we were all good spellers then we would be contestants on 'countdown' that is why you have spell check on a computer..... ;D
Kind regards.

:)Well done. I never made it past O levels, RSA's & LCC's, but hear tales of graduates having to take menial jobs due to lack of positions they had hoped for so if the job & salary are right then i think you know the answer.
Wish you well mate. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

i know what your mean about crap jobs after uni, i know a few people from my cause will get those. But thats because they are A-holes!
Those who did not take the placement year are fools too, the story is. If you do well, do a placement year and get some experience, and do a VERY good project you will get a job.
I got my new job and kick-ass salary because of my final year project!
