Had a problem with my Miggy recently. She has been a little down on power. If you drove it once you wouldn't notice, but I felt the lack of acceleration.
The exhaust has been blowing for a while, a small hole the size of a penny. I filled it with Gungum (crap stuff I know) but it blew it out next day. Still down on power.
Today I looked up the tail pipe and all I could see was a mass of wadding in the tail pipe. I pulled it all out and stuck my wet and dry vacuum up there and removed all the wadding.
It has made one heck of a difference. On a stretch of road I travel each day the car has gained 10mph.
It could be my imagination but I don't think so. Would a blocked rear silencer reduce power this much? :-?

Yes!
Many many moons ago, SWMBO while reversing my Manta, managed to hit the end of the exhaust on a very high kerb and bent the exhaust as it curved up over the rear axle, it had almost collapsed on itself. It was near impossible to drive, you had to bury the throttle to get it to move.

With a bit of luck mpg will improve aswell :y :y

Replace the exhaust. Yes, it would badly affect power.

3.0 and 3.2 have twin pipes. Yes, will fit 2.5
Eternal tail pieces aren't pretty, so if you want trim pieces from chavmeup.com, a single pipe may be better (twins are close together)
