What film does this extract come from?
Jules SNAPS, SAVAGELY TIPPING the card table over, removing
the only barrier between himself and Brett. Brett now sits
in a lone chair before Jules like a political prisoner in
front of an interrogator.
JULES
What country you from!
BRETT
(petrified)
What?
JULES
"What" ain't no country I know! Do
they speak English in "What?"
BRETT
(near heart attack)
What?
JULES
English-motherf*cker-can-you-speak-
it?
BRETT
Yes.
JULES
Then you understand what I'm sayin'?
BRETT
Yes.
JULES
Now describe what Marsellus Wallace
looks like!
BRETT
(out of fear)
What?
Jules takes his .45 and PRESSES the barrel HARD in Brett's
cheek.
JULES
Say "What" again! C'mon, say "What"
again! I dare ya, I double dare ya
motherf*cker, say "What" one more
goddamn time!
Brett is regressing on the spot.
JULES
Now describe to me what Marsellus
Wallace looks like!
Brett does his best.
BRETT
Well he's... he's... black –
JULES
– go on!
BRETT
...and he's... he's... bald –
JULES
– does he look like a bitch?!
BRETT
(without thinking)
What?
Jules' eyes go to Vincent, Vincent smirks, Jules rolls his
eyes and SHOOT Brett in the shoulder.
Brett SCREAMS, breaking into a SHAKING/TREMBLING SPASM in
the chair.
JULES
Does-he-look-like-a-bitch?!
BRETT
(in agony)
No.
JULES
Then why did you try to f*ck 'im
like a bitch?!
BRETT
(in spasm)
I didn't.
Now in a lower voice.
JULES
Yes ya did Brett. Ya tried ta f*ck
'im. You ever read the Bible, Brett?
BRETT
(in spasm)
Yes.
JULES
There's a passage I got memorized,
seems appropriate for this situation:
Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the
righteous man is beset on all sides
by the inequities of the selfish and
the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is
he who, in the name of charity and
good will, shepherds the weak through
the valley of darkness, for he is
truly his brother's keeper and the
finder of lost children. And I will
strike down upon thee with great
vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy my
brothers. And you will know my name
is the Lord when I lay my vengeance
upon you."
The two men EMPTY their guns at the same time on the sitting
Brett.

:)I'm not a movie watcher. They go on too long & i get up to do something(anything) else but love Pulp Fiction. Class!! :y

The first time I saw pulp fiction, I caught it half way through AND after a few beers!. Imagine my confusion! It wasn't until I saw the whole film from the beginning a few months later that it all fitted into place (well, almost). One of the best films ever made in my opinion.

Hmmm, time to be controversial....
I thought it was a p*ss ppor excuse for a film with a disjointed script that the makers tried to gloss over with extended and frequent sequences of extreme violence.
A classic case of "style" over substance.
There again, I am no fan of Tarantino (except for the episode of ER he did that was excellent).
Some of the best films of recent years?
Crash
In the name of the father
Million dolloar baby
Pans Labyrinth
Saw (not the sequels)
Shawshank Redemption
Sin city
The Matrix
21 grams
Touching the void
Mystic River
K-Pax
The usual suspects

I agree with most of your list above, only saw K-Pax first time the other night. Pulp Fiction deserves to be a classic, and not just the graphic violence, despite the difficult plot. The Matrix, I thought was brilliant up until the red pill/blue pill decision, then went downhill badly. A Clockwork Orange, although very dated, was a brave, unique film at the time as well, although if made now, nobody would notice...

The Matrix - a good idea and good effects, and now the bad parts, Keanu Reeves is poor, the whole idea is a blatant rip off of William Gibsons Neuromancer and also Anime.
That said it is still a fun film
As to Pulp Fiction disjointing yes, good film yes, ultra violent no - only hinted at.
I am a person who considers film making as an artform. If some people can collect paintings I can collect films.

I thought you had seen a preview of the adult Harry Potter film.... :o :o

Mystic River thiough was good, Clint Eastwood is a pretty good director.
Most modern films though are poor, but people whose work is worth watching are.
Peter Jackson
Ridley Scott
Ardman
Pixar
