Finally got fed up with the noisy rear end and boat like handling. Took the plunge tonight and tackled the doughnut bushes fearing the worse. As it turned out, both sides done in about a hour. Surprised it went so quick considering there the original bushes, even the bolts went back without any trouble lining it all up. I now have a firm rear end and a quiet car. RESULT.

Were the centres still attached to anything? When I had them replaced on my Senator, they had parted company completely from the rubber. no wonder the back knocked under hard acceleration.

Both centres were coming away from the rubber on the inner edge and part way through on the outer edge aswell, think the technical phrase is ARSED
