It's been a long time since I last saw one, but I do still like the look of them :y :y :y

ahhh back to the 80s-90s with good old school cars.
I had the SRI it was great fun just turn the octane plug from 95 to 98 and away you go :D :D :D
-
I def like the look of them. never had a chance to drive a mk1.
Quite rare as iirc only available in Y, A or B reg Think that was something like 1983 to early 1985. Maybe some late 82s as I believe Vauxhall released new models in October back then.
Hope my memory serves me correctly. :y

I had one of the last GTE's from new, brilliant to look at, but the car had loads of problems, so chopped it in for a nissan and stayed away from Vx for a few years.

Get some pics up, great motors.....Years ahead of the rest the engine was at the time

I found the 1.8 was a better performer than the 2.0.I wish i could turn back time mine was red in colour

Yep, get some photos up for us . I love 'em . Quite rare now ,rotton bulkhead killed most of them and then they just became an "old worthless car "
We have a couple in our Opel club over here both in very good condition.
Here's a friend of mine's D Gte and his sons Nova Gte alongside my Manta at a recent charity run around Dingle Peninsula.

Very nice cars.
I can remember sitting in them new in the show rooms ............... after I'd been sat in a Monza. ;) ;) ;) I must be old :-? :y :y

I had a black one which had been owned by a local casanova, he was caught in a compromising situation and the husband poured paint stripper on the roof which ran down the sides. I bought the car very cheap, painted the bare metal with red lead and drove it around for about 2 years, I was a good car ;)
-
it was cheap and it is not rotten or hanging underneath which is rare .

If you need any spare wheels for it, I have five in the shed.
Free to good home :)

The 4 new center caps are still in there original packaging, they may be some marks from storage, but I have not opened the packets.

I had an 8v 2.0 Mk2 - lovely engine, abysmal chassis ;D
But my previous Mk2 1.8 Belmont was faster (on its original engine until it let go rather spectucularly).
Chopped the GTE in for a Rover 216GSi (every bit as quick as the GTE in real world, only turned and stopped better) when the insurance went up to £3k :o
