Title: Ford Transit Summer/winter plug?
Post by: Impact Pete on 22 June 2010, 08:54:19
Does anyone know if I'm right that I think there is a multipin plug that can be connected to a summer mode and a winter mode(relates to heater blower so that during winter you get more heat) seems at the moment to be blowing hotter air than what is outside!

Transit is 02 plate

cheers

Never heard of it on mine . Are you sure the heater valve is actually closed ?
Ask on here ...

Thanks have already asked the question but people come up with ridiculous answers like 'have you turned the control to blue instead of red!' :-? Do they think I'm really thick!

On my engine to the right is a grey and black plug (identical) only one can be plugged in, I was reliably told one is for summer running and one for winter.
On the ford site no one even has replied with what each one is there for, they need a few people like the admins on here and others who actually know what they are talking about.

Pete , I wasn't trying to be sarcastic I was trying to ask if the actual heater valve was returning to the closed postion not the control dial on the dash.
I've just had a look through the Ford TIS ( Technical Information Service ) disc I have and cannot find any ref to a dual mode function on either the electrical or operations section.
Mine is a FWD vehicle if yours is the same perhaps take a photo and we'll see if mine has the same plug.
Does it have climate control/ aircon ?
