Title: Could it be time for the beast to go?
Post by: bob.dent on 14 July 2010, 16:41:58
With my job just about hanging on by a thread and no pay rise for years I think the time has come to seriously think about selling my pride and joy MV6 for something a little cheaper to maintain and run as I'm really struggling these days. Having forked out over a grand over the last few months, I've just had MOT renewed but with advisories on 2 tyres which is more expense I could do without at the moment, but it never seems to stop. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I were able to self maintain it but unfortunately I'm not. :'(
If anyone interested in giving it a good home, keep an eye on the For Sale section in the not too distant future. ::)

Sad to hear of your circumstances Bob - more so if you're thinking of selling your car because of them. :( :(

Hope things improve for you soon. :y :y

I know its more expense initially .. but have you considered LPG ?? cuts running costs by 40% ..  You've got the car almost perfect .. be a shame to let it go and start on something you don't know ...

No, I opted for the Azev wheels when I bought it as they really suit the car in my opinion. Unfortunately due to their size, replacing the rubber is a tad expensive and tends to wear quicker. Also doesn't do much for fuel economy. I did toy with the idea of putting standard alloys on if I could have found some but.............ah well, I do love them! ;)

I'll be paying attention to the "For Sale" Section... I may be tempted by this ;)

That said Bob, it is a sad day if you do decide to sell it. The car is luverly and you've got it just how you want it now :y

Unfortunately, it's not just a matter of the fuel costs, its the overall upkeep - also just forked £245.00 for renewing the road tax and thats going to be more next year! :'( Although I love the MV6 I just think I need to look at something more affordable overall. :-[
Oh well, perhaps I'll win the lottery this weekend. ::) ;D
