I don't really like S-Types as a car, I mean the one I have is pre-facelift and it's nice, but it's just not something I can grow to like I don't know why?
But the XJR I had and sold on very quickly was lovely, do I get an 05 or later S-Type R as just my little toy for the weekends?
Pro's & cons of both idea's :y

If you don't like the S type as a car Del then pre or post face-lift shouldn't make much difference to you unless you can get the S type R at very good money.
If you liked the XJR then perhaps that's the one to look out for.

I suppose that makes more sense ;D ;D
Got a few I could choose from best one is a good price though £8000 for a '54' S-Type R with 80k miles, all the kit including Nav etc :-/

Not keen on the S Type's really, it'd have to be an XJ. But I wouldn't get the XJR, but that's purely personal preference. Not keen on the XJR's, no wood, bit too sporty for me. I'd go for the XJ Super V8, or the best a Daimler Super Eight. I'd love a 2006 Daimler Super Eight, 4.2 V8 supercharged, lovely interior with those Daimler touches, boxwood inlay...but quite hard to find. Cost about £82k when new, and I've yet to see on come up at auction, seen a few privately and from Jag main dealers.

The Daimlers are lovely, but I am now scratching this idea altogether :)
