Title: Vx Astra Cabrio Breakdown - Fault Codes

Hopefully one or two of you Vauxhall Experts will be on tonight as Im trying to do my night is shining armour impresion and helping out the neighbours.

They have a 2.0 02 plate Vx Astra Cabrio that wont start. Its been recovered home but the mechanic who brought it back had no idea what the problem was. The car just wont turn over and the engine management light is on.

Will the paperclip test work on a astra and are the fault codes still available on a website?????

Someone must know so please share  :D :y

The 'pedal trick' worked on SWMBO's 52 plate 1.6 16v Astra  :-/ :-/  :-/  :-/

Ok, ive never done the pedal trick  ::) so give us a clue how it works   :y

More likely to be the paper clip setup on the X20...but try the pedal trick first.

I would guess at crank sensor.....

Well Im doing well tonight, I cant find the instructions for either test and have deleted the link for the codes when I reformated my pc. Anyone help on any of them......

God Ive had a bad day  :D ;D ;D time for a beer I think.

Well all sorted without the need for me  ;D

Another mate turned up with a new battery and hey presto she fired up into life. Garage supposebly tested the other so I still have my doubts, but they are going to run it for a few days and see what happens.
